How did you become interested in the Howard University School of Social Work?

In my first semester as a graduate student at the Howard University School of Divinity, one of my professors had my class answer the question, "What is your contribution to the world going to be?" This profound question was the start of a project that lasted the entire semester. As I reflected on my lived experience, I knew that therapy was an integral part of my calling in life. That was when I knew that I wanted to attend the Howard University School of Social Work. I applied to the program and am now a Master of Divinity and Master of Social Work dual degree student at Howard University.

What was your most memorable experience?

Receiving a personal phone call from the Dean of the Howard University School of Social Work, Dr. Sandra Crewe, is by far my most memorable experience. She called me prior to the start of my first semester as a Master of Social Work student and unfortunately, I missed her call. She was kind enough to leave me a voicemail. When I called the number back, she answered! She simply called to welcome me to the Howard University School of Social Work. I have never forgotten that moment. It showed me how the Howard University School of Social Work stands out from other institutions as it values its students.

What are your plans for the future?

My plans for the future is to own a successful private therapy practice. I will cater to individuals and couples alike, but my focus leans towards couples/marital counseling.
