Dr. Altaf Husain Honored with the 2025 Social Work Impact Award

The Howard University School of Social Work celebrates Dr. Altaf Husain, PhD, MSW, Associate Professor and Associate Dean for Academic & Student Advancement, for being recognized by the Public Health Social Work (PHSW) Division of the American Public Health Association (APHA) with the 2025 Social Work Impact Award.

The award honors Dr. Husain for his outstanding achievements and enduring commitment to the advancement of social work. His contributions reflect a dedication to improving individual and community well-being through public health and social work integration.

The award was presented by Dr. Latrice Rollins, Chair of the APHA PHSW Section, on November 3, 2025, during the APHA Annual Conference, held November 2–5 at the Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.
